CSH Surrey gets behind NHS Change Day

Wednesday 11 March. CSH Surrey is using NHS Change Day to create a week of opportunities to showcase our new IT kit to co-owners in advance of teams receiving the new devices next month. Linked to NHS Change Day, we’re also encouraging co-owners to make pledges to change how they work once they receive their new laptop or device. Below are some of the pledges we're hoping our co-owners will get behind:

Pledges around IT

  • I pledge to ‘Use my diary online rather than a paper diary’ (for lots of benefits! To reduce calls and save me time when appointments change or are cancelled; so I can have up-to-date access to my diary in RiO; to save me time through not having to print my schedule out; to reduce the cost of printing out paper diaries)
  • I pledge to ‘Use electronic letters to GPs from RiO’ (to save me and GPs’ time and money, and so I’m transferring patient data more securely)
  • I pledge to ‘Look up patient information on my new device rather than paper records’ (to save me time)
  • I pledge to ‘Use my new IT device to update access records when out in the community’ (because it will save me time)
  • I pledge to ‘Access my emails each working day’ (so I will be more in touch with what’s going on)
  • I pledge to ‘Outcome my clinical activity every day on RiO’ (to improve my clinical practice).

CSH Surrey is also using NHS Change Day to as a way to improve patient/client experiences and quality of care. Some examples of pledges include:

  • I pledge to ‘Mention the Friends and Family Test to at least one service user every day’ (so we understand more how our patients/clients feel about our services)
  • I pledge to ‘Go to one of the 1hr Duty of Candour awareness events 9th-26th March’ (so I’m up to speed with my duties of openness to patients/families when incidents occur)
  • I pledge to ‘Make patients’/clients’ experiences even better by introducing myself and my role every time you see them’ #hellomynameis
  • I pledge to ‘Make lasting changes following incidents’ (so they don’t happen again)
  • I pledge to ‘Remember the power of a smile’ :-)
