Displaced Weybridge GP practices returning to Weybridge Hospital site

Thursday 23 November 2017. The GP treatment room services run by CSH Surrey and the two GP practices, Rowan Tree and Church Street, that were displaced following a fire which completely destroyed Weybridge Hospital in July will be returning to the former Weybridge Hospital site on 5 December 2017.

Around 20 temporary buildings supplied by NHS Property Services have been moved on to the former Weybridge Hospital site to accommodate the two GP practices and their treatment room services. A Lloyds pharmacy will also be returning at a slightly later date.

Matthew Tait, Joint Accountable Officer, North West Surrey CCG said: “We are delighted that our patients will be able to access their GP services back at the original site. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank not only our local member practices but also the population of the two Weybridge practices for their patience and understanding during these unforeseen circumstances.

“As you can imagine, there will be some disruption to services whilst they return to the site. The practices will be providing an emergency service only on 5 and 6 December at the new temporary building at the former Weybridge Hospital site.  We want to assure the patients of Church Street and Rowan Tree that they will have access to GP services during this period. Please can we ask that any routine services and/or prescriptions are obtained before or after the move?  Please remember you can still book appointments and order your repeat prescriptions using the online services (Patient Access).

“NHS England, South, South East have released some funding to support both practices, once settled back on site to provide additional clinics to support them to provide extended services.”

Sara McMullen, Surrey Clinical Lead and Operational Manager at CSH Surrey said: "Appointments for the treatment room service will recommence from 8am on Thursday 7 December. Urgent dressing appointments on 5 and 6 December will continue to be available at Woking Community Hospital. From 7 December the treatment room service will resume normal hours and will be available between 8am and 4pm, Monday to Friday for patients of the two GP practices."

Martin Steele, Chief Operating Officer at NHS Property Services said: “I would like to thank all of our NHS colleagues and the people of Weybridge for their patience while we have been getting these temporary buildings up and running. It’s a great step forward that people in the community will soon be able to see their GPs and other health services back onsite. We will continue to work hard to support all our partners as long term plans for delivery of health care in Weybridge are developed.”

The two practices and the treatment room services will have new telephone numbers when they return to Weybridge:

  • Rowan Tree: 01932 505 230
  • Church Street: 01932 504 450
  • Treatment room services: 01483 782 818

Both of the GP practices will be open 8.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday.  More information about extended services can be found on the practice website over time at www.churchstreetpractice.nhs.uk and www.rowantreepractice.org.uk
