28 November 2014. CSH Surrey is transferring the testing and diagnostics services provided by its Community Assessment Unit (CAU) from Epsom General Hospital to Leatherhead Community Hospital from 1st December 2014.
The services are moving back to Leatherhead after Surrey Downs CCG agreed to a request from Epsom & St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust for more capacity to deal with pressures over the winter months.
The services include rapid diagnosis, treatment and care for patients who may otherwise be admitted to hospital or attend A&E.
Access to the services is via GP or consultant referral (it is not a 'walk in' centre). Patients whose treatments will move to Leatherhead Hospital are being informed directly and GPs have been notified.
The services will remain at Leatherhead Hospital until further notice.
