We are looking for patient assessors for our 2024 PLACE assessment at Woking Community Hospital.
Role summary/purpose
PLACE stands for Patient-Led Assessments of the Care Environment. A PLACE assessment focuses entirely on the care environment and does not assess clinical care provision.
The following six areas are assessed during the inspection:
Apps and online resources for stroke patients
Stroke based community support
Stroke Association
The Stroke Association is a charity that offers insight into the effects of a stroke and the recovery. They organise support groups and online activities and advise on what services could help you in your area. They also provide support to the carers and families of stroke survivors.

1. Take frequent rests
2. Prioritise activities
3. Plan ahead/time management
4. Organise tools, materials and work area (ergonomics)
5. Adopt a good posture
6. Lead a healthy lifestyle and exercise
1. Take frequent rests
- Balance activities with rests and learn to allow time to rest when planning a days activities.
- Rest means doing nothing at all.
